There are many resources for Veterans in need of assistance. Check out the VFW transition and employment services as well as the services available at the Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs.
Additionally, if you are struggling with some issues and need to speak with someone, please contact the
Veterans Crisis Line now. Don't wait. Know that you are not alone and that many of your fellow Veterans have been where you are. We are extending a hand; take it. You'll be glad you did.
Lastly, a recent VA study has shown that those Veterans who are most likely in mental distress are older Veterans and Veterans not in the VA system. So don't assume that young Veterans are the ones to worry about. We have a duty to look after all of our Veteran brothers and sisters and there is a campaign that you should be familiar with as YOU make make the difference in another Veteran's life. Also, don't think that it can't happen to you. Check it out at
Know The Five Signs.
