Chaplains Corner

Todays subject

Corinthians 1:8-10 We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about the hardships we suffered in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired even of life. Indeed, in our hearts were felt the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God who raises the dead. He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us,……….(NIV)

Today our troops are under great stress, serving multiple tours in a combat zone. The issues of PTSD and suicide has skyrocketed. The Apostle Paul had similar issues. He found help in God, who delivers us and gives us hope of a future. We need to bring hope to our troops by seeking them out and letting them know that they are not alone in these feelings

The Spring Conference was very good. It was great to see those that were there, but, I greatly missed those that were not. We have many members who have health issues and need our prayers. If you know of a member that is having health issues please let me know so that I can get a card out to them. If a member has passed please let me know this and the next of kin so I can get a sympathy card out to them.

It is time that we veterans stand up and live up to our motto; “To honor the dead by helping the living.” God bless America, God bless the VFW, God bless our veterans, God bless our troops.
